Here are some easy steps to add some personality to your bathroom in a weekend. These are great projects you can get your kids involved in too.

1. Themes are a great way to add spark to the bathroom. Some examples are tropical fish, cabbage rose, or Italian villa. Themes are especially suited to the children's bathroom.

2. Base your color scheme on what is suits the theme, or use a fabric, wallpaper, or a picture for color inspiration.

3. Painting the walls with a warm color such as soft gold will reduce the 'coldness' of tile, flooring, and porcelain fixtures.

4. Decorate with colorful towels and rugs. Match the colors to oyur fixtures and wallpaper.

5. Hang pictures and choose accessories that match the theme and add to the color scheme.

6. Use decorative accessories such as boxes, and bowls that can double as containers for cosmetics, cotton balls, or washcloths.

7. Add plants either on a counter, around a tub, or hanging from a wall basket.

8. Use decorative moulding to frame a plain frameless mirror.

9. Add a table lamp on the counter for extra and warm lighting.

10. Add more towel bars or hooks to add convenience and keep things neat and tidy.

11. Store extra towels in an interesting way. Try stacking them on a shelf to add color, rolled in baskets for texture, or hanging from hooks.
